The Wonderful Uses of Rubber Sheets in Various Industries

Rubber and by design rubber sheet in the Philippines have found a lot of uses over the years. Most of them are conventional and common while there are also others that are a lot less common. You still can’t deny that rubber plays a big part of how things are. Never mind, the negative aspect too. Let’s focus on the positive things that rubber and rubber sheets bring to the table.

The generic rubber sheets are already finding a lot of uses but mostly inland. They have been used in different industries like for the mining, construction. You name it, they probably have use for rubber materials including sheets. These days even the cosplaying geeks love and swear by rubber foams for their craft. If you ever find cosplay videos online, you would see just how colorful and striking their finished products are and that’s all thanks to rubber products. Industrial grade rubber sheets also provide the backbone for other crafters outside of cosplayers and geeks. A quick visit on YouTube will show you a dozen of different art related projects that use rubber as its main material.

Want more proof that rubber and rubber sheets have been embraced by the world? You could look at Hollywood and local movies. Rubber is one of the key components for prosthetics. This is the magic stuff that change the look for your favorite actors and actresses in movies. It could be as subtle as longer nose to really over-the-top like making an actress have blue skin or covered in fur.

So what’s next for rubber? How about being used underwater or for places where there’s just too much water. That’s not something you dream up, this is actually real. They actually do use things like rubber waterstop to keep things working and keeping the water out. There’s a bunch of industries that also adapted the use of neoprene rubber to keep things working. First, there’s the obvious answer, maritime industries or businesses that operate near water. Restaurants by the bay are some examples of non-traditional users of rubber.

The rubber sheet is mainly used for construction and buildings too. Infrastructures near bodies of water are often prone to getting water damage. Fresh water takes a long time to really damage infrastructure. The chemical and cellular construction of rubber sheet makes it nearly impossible for water to leak it. However, this will need changing from time to time. It’s both a maintenance thing and also a preventive measure to avoid accidents from ever happening.

Freshwater is one thing but saltwater is the true enemy and the true test of whether or not a rubber sheet is nicely built. Unlike freshwater, saltwater can be aggressive in doing damage to whatever it is exposed to. Nothing is safe maybe except for stone or cement Saltwater also brings salt damage, so if the structure is reactive to salt, you are in deep water; no pun intended.

Rubber sheets are great and they are definitely the best material to use.
